You have no reason to worry if your baby has not gained weight properly. Most of the mothers are always looking for foods which can help their kids to gain weight. The weight of the baby is also dependent on the parent’s genetic constitution. Below are some of the foods which can help your kids to gain weight irrespective of his or her age.

Milk

Most of the young kids are fed on breast milk. This is the best milk for babies. Babies who have attained an age of 1 year can also be fed on the cow’s milk.

Banana

Infants are fed with bananas after attaining an age of 6 months. These fruits are rich in potassium, dietary fiber and vitamin C. Different forms of bananas are fed to the babies including banana puree and pancakes. Bananas are also mixed with porridge flour to form the banana muffins which are fed to kids who have attained the age of one year.

High calorie energy and nutritious foods

These foods are preferred instead of the fatty foods. High-calorie foods help in increasing the weight of your child without increasing the fats in his body. However, the high-calorie foods which are non-nutritious should be avoided as they may lead to poor eating habits that might be difficult to change in future.

Peach

Peaches are given to babies who have attained the age of six months. They are rich in vitamins A and C, niacin and dietary fiber. They are given in form of milk shakes, smoothies and as purees.

Pear

Pears are among the solid foods given to babies to help them in gaining weight. This fruit is rich in dietary fiber, iron, and Vitamins B6 and C. Pears are given as apple pear puree and pear puree. You can also add pears in pancakes once your child has attained the age of eight months.

Peas

Babies are introduced to peas from their age of six months. Peas are legumes which are very rich in vitamins, magnesium, phosphorus, niacin, thiamine, and dietary fiber. Peas are given in the form of peas khichdi, vegetable soup and peas puree.
